STATE GALLERY OF ART | HYDERABAD
The very aim of organizing an important monumental structured, ‘ALL INDIA ART COMPETITION & EXHIBITION 2024’ 5th Edition is an effort to connect the contemporary art practices of the nation and also to create platform with the larger interest of the artist fraternity. We have received close to 500 entries for the competition by the last date 8th April 2024.

SUBMISSION FOR THE COMPETITION IS CLOSED NOW​
​
OBJECTIVE
The very aim of organizing an important monumental structure, "ALL INDIA ART COMPETITION & EXHIBITION 2024" 5th Edition is an effort to connect the contemporary art practices of the nation and also to create a platform with the larger interest of the artist fraternity.
​
MEDIUM
Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Printmaking, Ceramic and Graphics, Photography, Multimedia, Digital Art Works and Other medium
ELIGIBILITY
The competition & exhibition is open to any Indian citizen artists aged 20 years and above.
​
AWARDS
1. 1st Cash Award One Award Rs. 1,00,000/- + Citation and Memento.
2. 2nd Cash Award Three Awards Rs. 50,000/- + Citation and Mementos
3. 3rd Cash Award Twenty Awards Rs. 20,000/- + Citation and Mementos
4. Award of sponsorship to 10 artists for solo exhibition (within one year ) at State Gallery of Art, Madhapur, Hyderabad
IMPORTANT
-
State Gallery of Art, Madhapur, Hyderabad will not retain (not take/keep) the award-winning works.

An exhibition of the best works selected by the jury out of the entries including the award-winning work will be exhibited in the State Gallery of Art, Madhapur, Hyderabad in the last week of May or the first week of June 2024
-
The Gala Award Presentation Ceremony will be organized during the exhibition.
-
Gallery reserves right to cancel competition as per Central or State Government Orders / Guidelines.

ENTRY FEE
-
The entry fee is Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only)
-
Last date of submission is 31st March 2024 for each artist participating in the 'Competition'.
-
Participation in other disciplines requires separate fees and forms.

The fee can be paid to Union Bank of India, Account Name : President, State Art Gallery, A/C No. 135610011000910, IFS Code: UBIN0813567, Branch: Kavuri Hills, Hyderabad.

The entry fee is not refundable

SIZE
-
The maximum size of the exhibits should not exceed (6 ft. X 6 ft.) minimum size without a frame or mount 1 ft. x 1 ft. for two- dimensional work egg—painting, print, photograph, etc.
-
For three-dimensional and multimedia art such as Sculpture / Ceramics / Terracotta it could be 3' X 3' X 2' Ft. Maximum.
-
For electronic and video art works maximum duration of run should be a Maximum of 10 minutes and a minimum of 2 minutes for which basic tech facilities can be arranged with prior mutual agreement.
NUMBER OF ARTWORK TO BE SELECTED FOR EXHIBITION
A maximum of Up to 250 (Two hundred and Fifty) artworks will be selected out of all the entries received in response to the prospectus inclusive of all mediums.

JURY
The State Gallery of Art shall constitute two separate juries of eminent artists and experts (a) for selection of exhibits and (b) for finalization of awards.
​
1st Jury :
Eminent jury members of artists, curators, and experts will be appointed to adjudicate and select a maximum up to 250 best artworks for the ALL INDIA ART COMPETITION & EXHIBITION 2024- 5th Edition.
2nd and final Jury:
-
The selection of award-winning works and artists will then be made by another member jury of renowned art critics, experts, and artists out of the actual artworks selected by the first jury.

The selection will be made based on the applications/photographs / layout plan of the installation
-
/ sketch of works submitted by the applicants.
-
The final jury will also have the right to discard any entries if the artwork is not up to the level or is found unethical, plagiarized, or unacceptable by the organizers.
-
The decision of both juries will be final and binding to all. No correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.

DEPOSIT OF EXHIBITS & THEIR DETAILS
-
The applicant should not send the exhibits unless instructed by the STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD
-
The artists should send their selected work suitably and securely packed and framed/ready for display only when advised with details and address of the consignee and by specified date
-
Details of the work – title, size in inches and medium of the work should be clearly stated in the application
-
A 100-word short note describing the artwork should be submitted along with the application if any.

RETURN OF EXHIBITS
-
Works that get selected for the exhibition or award will not be allowed to be removed before the close of the exhibition
-
While STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD will take due care of all the works received it shall accept no liabilities of any type
-
The artists will be fully responsible for sending and receiving back their work before and after the exhibition as per the schedule to be announced
-
The artists will be expected to collect their work back immediately at the end of the exhibition from the venue itself
-
The exhibits that are not collected immediately can be collected from STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD within 30 days after the close of the exhibition
-
STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD will not keep the exhibits beyond this period
-
If the exhibits are not collected in the prescribed time frame, STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD reserves the right to dispose them off in the manner it deems fit.

Please note no reminder/ notice in this regard will be issued.
SALE OF EXHIBIT
-
Works selected for the exhibition will be open for sale subject to consent of the artists.
-
Artists must mention the price of his or her exhibits in the entry form; otherwise it will be presumed that the exhibit is not for sale.
-
The sale amount will go to the artist after deduction of 25% commission.
-
It is expected that the price of the exhibits quoted will be rational and reasonable.

INSURANCE
-
STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD will take every care of all the submitted works, however, in an unlikely case of loss or damage happening in the course of storage, transit or display it shall not be liable to any claim or legal pursuit.
-
Artists if they so wish and deem fit are at liberty to take an insurance coverage at their own cost.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS
-
All correspondence will be made by the STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD to the address given in the Entry Form filled by the participants.
-
The artists should inform the STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD of any change of address immediately, failing which the STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD will not be responsible, for non-receipt of communication.

INVITATION FOR EXHIBITION
-
Invitation for the inauguration of the exhibition will be sent to all the entrants / applicants.
-
One complimentary copy of catalogue will be given to all those artists whose work gets included in the exhibition.
-
The artists selected for the awards will be invited to attend the Award Presentation Ceremony. Should come on their own.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
-
The Last date for submission extended up to 10th April 2024 with an entry fee.
-
The exhibition will be organized in the STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD in May /June.
-
All works should be original creations of the artists concerned and should not have been executed before 30th April 2023.
-
Only those artists, who are participating in the competition section, will be eligible for awards.
-
Already awarded works (received from any National or international institutions) will not be entitled to exhibition and award.
-
To ensure dignity and sanctity, these awards will be given to the awardees only and not to their representatives.
-
These awards will not be divided or shared. The award money will not be split.
-
The artists may submit sculptures, ceramics terracotta, etc. in fragile material at their own risk and cost. STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD shall not be made responsible for any kind of damage.

The participant shall submit the artwork on canvas in ready-to-display condition, properly stretched with or without a frame.

The participant shall submit the Installation work in ready-to-display condition. For installation, the artists are required to send the display plan along with the Entry Form. In case, the artist's presence is required, the STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD will inform the artists to be present at the venue at their own expense.

The identification slip and caption should be attached properly at the backside of the submitted work.
-
For selected works, Artists should send their artwork beforehand for better display.
-
STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD reserves the right to reproduce/publish the exhibit for catalog or publicity purposes. Due credit will be given to artists if specified in advance, wherever possible.

STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD reserves the right to reject the artwork without any notification, change the terms and conditions, and increase or decrease the number and amount of awards. In regards to the interpretation of any rule, the decision of the Director STATE GALLERY OF ART, MADHAPUR, HYDERABAD will be final and binding to all.

Hiding any kind of realities will result in disqualification/return of the award/legal action.

In case of any dispute, Hyderabad will be the jurisdiction.
